Realms of Misteria

The southern continent of the globe, also known as Misteria, is the most documented region of the world, with many detailed maps of the shoreline as well as the roads incide of the land. Those efforts were first started by sailors from Zimorow, now an abandoned ruin east of the Frozen Isles. The exploration efforts began around the year 1864 H.T. (Humanum Tempus) with the first expedition circumnavigating the western side of the continent, concluding at the shores of the vast Orange Desert. A decade later, a second expedition set out from the eastern shores and ultimately reached the port city of Waraci again in the Land of Nur. However, the third expedition, which aimed to explore the eastern regions of the Cold Sea, vanished without a trace. Most of what is known to folks of Misteria, is that beside the southern continent there are a plethora of islands around the continent and a mostly unexplored world in the North. It is said that those who venture north from the copper islands tend to never come back.

Misteria is divided by treacherous mountain ranges that split the land into separate regions. The hottest region of the continent starts north beyond the Midland Mountains and consists of Kambala (also known as Land of Kambala), the dense and misterious Zatara Jungle, which houses a few of independent cities, and the arid Land of Nur, situated even farthernorth beyond the imposing Fiery Mountains.

In the central part of the continent lies the vast Nesara Forest, which houses the nation of Verdalia. Next to it stands the wealthy Kingdom of Astoria, nestled in the Mountains of Eldor, the Land of Waternia built on wetlands, and the Mebelands with its many cities and states. Because of the dangerous and unforgiving terrain of the Argent Mountain Range, there is a great separation between the southern lands and the central continent, with contact between them being mostly facilitated by merchants who traverse the treacherous Fool’s Gambit.

The southern reaches of Misteria are inhabited by the Beastly residents of the Wild Lands, alongside the people of Worgos and Morozia, latter of which is known for its frostbitten forests. Beyond the continental land there are the Copper Islands on the Great Eastern Ocean and the Island of Burgos situated west of Worgos.
