Arktoport
The southernmost extended port of Misteria, stands at the frigid end of the continent. During the summer months, ships often seek refuge there on their voyages to Burgos and Worgos. However, in the winter, the Cold Sea freezes over, halting all maritime traffic around the city. In that time many mages work together to prepair ships for the winter. Using Ice magic they drain the port and set the ships up with the icy structures above the ground. While the port bustles with fishermen and sailors in the summer, many of them either await the warmer season or journey to Vostok to work in the mines during the winter months. A small mine operates to the east of the city, but its limited size cannot sustain all folk seeking jobs in the winter. With so many interested in work, pay is quite low.
The port side is enclosed by towering rocks that provide a natural shield against strong winds, affording protection to the bay. Atop these rocks, a lighthouse with a magnificent crystal emits a radiant light. Access to the lighthouse is highly restricted, with only a couple of ladders leading to its summit. The entire city area is nestled in a valley, shielding it from the relentless winds. Further into the city, houses, typically crafted from dark wood, are constantly blanketed in snow. In the city center, the Temple of Garamond stands, with its priests also serving as the city’s officials.
