Morozia
Regional merchandise: metalworks, automatons, ores, food (Ostrov).

The freezing land of Morozia is nestled on the southernmost extended peninsula of Misteria. Here, Staroport welcomes those sailing from the north or arriving from the isolated Dosmosk, located southeast from there. Venturing west, we find Ostrov, the somewhat inefficient granary of the south. Nevertheless, many commodities are shipped from there by the river to the capital of the south, the city of Vostok. This frozen jewel stands tall in the heart of the southern taiga, well aware of all the dangers lurking in the spiky growth. To the east stands the city of Stalovnik, to the west the port city of Viatroviec, and to the south, the Arktoport city on the edge of the Cold Sea. There’s also the city of Polarnik, located in the Frozen Land on the other side of the Cold Sea, but almost no one goes there.
Folks from Morozia live in challenging conditions, especially in the south, and this causes them to have rather pessimistic views on life. They often turn to drinking and are known for being overprotective of their own. Many residents here work as miners, lumberjacks, and fishermen, with only a fortunate few having cozier professions. Despite the hardships, people from Morozia are generally well-liked in most places, not necessarily for their characters but for their resourcefulness. They do what needs to be done and do it conscientiously.
Morozia maintains good relations with its overseas neighbors such as Mebelands, Burgos, and Worgos, but its relations with those connected by land are less favorable. Waternia, for a significant part of history, was annexed by Morozia, only recently gaining freedom from occupation. Nonetheless, Waternia plays a crucial role in providing much-needed food to Morozia at “reasonable” prices.
In this cold and unforgiving land, you’ll find many Humans and Beastly covered in thick furs to protect them from the freezing temperatures outside. The harsh weather, especially in the south, with constant threat of frostbite, makes life difficult. Many people from the south travel north in the winter, as there is little work when the sea freezes over. Due to these challenges, there are few Virdis living in Morozia, as it is hard for them to survive here. Most Virdis are native to this region and prefer to live in the taiga forests. The Virdis who do reside in the cities are usually from wealthy nobility and can afford the luxury of Virdis life in town.
Beastly in Morozia are easily recognizable around Misteria, as most of them have thick fur and generally possess a pessimistic attitude. This outlook on life is a result of the many hardships they face, often resulting in the loss of loved ones. Moving tribes that venture throughout the land are known to encounter trouble along the way. While many Beastly live outside the cities, they visit them to trade when they have collected substantial amounts of game. Even then, they prefer to stay outside the city walls, as the Human lifestyle is unnatural for them. Those who live inside towns usually do so because they’ve rejected the tribal way of life. Each tribe in Morozia has its own customs, some of which may be considered brutal or unnecessary. Ongoing conflicts between these tribes make it difficult to find peace, and some individuals seek it in the cities.
Humans hold a higher social hierarchy in Morozia. They are involved in administration and intellectual labor, with only the very poor working in the mines and as fishermen. This hierarchy is further supported by the fact that they produce automatons and other expensive items like metalworks and jewels.
In the towns of Morozia, life for Artifex is challenging. Many automatons are seen walking on the streets, performing simple chores, and this has led to racism against them. Consequently, machines are considered inferior to sentient beings, with Artifex sharing this unfortunate perception. They are often seen as defective automatons by many, and as a result, only few decide to live in Morozia. However, there is one well-known Artifex named Titan, who works as a mercenary. Standing at over 10 feet tall, he is perhaps the deadliest machine in all of Morozia.
