Waraci
Also known as “The Edge of Mysteria” or “North Port”, this city is to most the last known place north. Within it stands the Waraci Lighthouse, the tallest structure in the city, which also serves as a bustling market. Those traveling to and from the South often visit this thriving city due to the high demand for their goods. Here, a wide array of desert products can be found, including stingers of desert gliders and sand puffers — a delicious fruit that exclusively grows in this region. Additionally, unique strength crystals and purely aesthetic jewels are available. The city is home to numerous gemologists and jewelers who offer their services at a reasonable price (or so they say).
The Turquoise Palace, arguably the city’s most iconic landmark after the lighthouse, stands over the water, shielded from the ocean’s waves by a small circle of ancient crystals, which calm the water near the structure. Within the palace resides the Masaarif family, the wealthiest clan known to the people of Nur. Led by Ubzara Ramsaatif, who is both the town’s leader and master, the family governs with an iron grip, while still showing generosity towards those who show them favour.
In the nearby forest, a significant crystal mine delves deep underground. Surprisingly, this mine is open to anyone, though there’s a reason for that. The mine extends for miles underground, featuring caves, tunnels, and caverns along the way. All of this connects to a larger underground cave complex, accessible through an entrance hidden somewhere within the forest. Consequently, the area is inhabited by creatures like spidermonkeys and moleogres, posing substantial hazards to miners. Nevertheless, this peril doesn’t deter them, as many continue to brave the dangers and retrieve crystals that can be sold for months of food.
