Pirates Archipelago
The group of islands widely recognized by sailors as the Pirates Archipelago is notorious for being a haven for rogue ships and vessels, ranging from smaller sloops to formidable man-o-wars. Many pirates who sail the open ocean retreat to this region during the winter for maintenance and to enjoy their ill-gotten gains. Traders who navigate these dangerous waters often employ additional crews to safeguard their business. However, even this added protection can turn against them.
The Pirates Archipelago consists of over a thousand islands, and many of them are inhabited by native groups known as the Umari people. Ruins are scattered throughout the area, and numerous rogue ports can be found, with the largest one being Shiphaven, also infamously known as Pillagers Harbour. Traders who dare to stop at this free port can anticipate adventures of all kinds unless they arrive well-protected. While Shiphaven offers harbor facilities for maintenance to anyone with the necessary funds, it does not provide any form of protection, in stark contrast to the “fair trade” ports that cater to merchants. This lack of security has earned Shiphaven the ominous nickname of Dead Man’s Harbour, as many pirates choose to exact revenge on their foes when they are at their most vulnerable.
