Mar

Known as the Crossroad, Mar occupies a unique position as a small city situated at the convergence point of roads leading to and from all the major cities of Worgos. What initially began as a roadhouse has, with the passage of time, blossomed into a bustling city with a population numbering in the thousands.

The original roadhouse still stands on the cliff, although a portion of it now precariously hangs over the edge due to the erosion of the rocks. The city’s expansion initially extended from the cliffs into the surrounding land. However, the ever-shifting cliff line has posed a continuous challenge, resulting in some buildings falling into the depths below or facing the imminent risk of doing so. Unfortunately, this fate may eventually befall the Temple of Ria, which now stands perilously close to the edge.

The city square, which was initially established in front of the old inn, now finds itself surrounded by tenement buildings on all sides. These buildings primarily house artisans such as tailors, embroiderers, and weavers, who diligently craft colorful garments for sale. The elite of Worgos take immense pride in having their clothing created in Mar, and many would never consider wearing anything else.

While the Aragonza family technically owns the old inn and is considered the rulers of the city, Mar largely operates on its own. Crimes are typically resolved by the people, and self-judgment is often seen as the standard practice, closely following the exercise of power.
