Lynxion (Nebulara lyncis

This large feline-like creature is uniquely adapted to hunt within the fog, targeting smaller inhabitants of this misty realm. While agile and strong, stealth is not their strong suit, as fog provides ample cover. Intriguingly, they appear to possess heightened hearing in misty conditions, with enslaved individuals often displaying behavior akin to deafness.

These formidable predators are prevalent, but not exclusively encountered in northern regions, notably Kambala, where they often occupy the apex predator role. They thrive in dense forest habitats, maintaining a patient, nearly dormant posture while awaiting unsuspecting prey.

In fog, their behavior shifts as they actively hunt, frequently targeting glider flocks and other mistborn. Encounters in their natural habitat should be approached cautiously, as they can be unpredictable and hostile. Previously, these creatures peacefully coexisted with sentient beings and lived among the Virdis, with even some serving as transportation. However, due to rampant poaching for their hides, they’ve become increasingly aggressive, particularly towards Beastly. Consequently, the practice of using them for transportation has almost completely waned. Their hides are prized for concealed highlights, revealed upon trimming, making them desirable to hunters and collectors.

Appearance: These creatures are typically up to 3 feet (1 meter)  in height and no longer than 10 feet (3 meters) in length. They have a slim build and their coloration varies based on their habitat; those in Kambala tend to be yellow and orange, while those in Mebeland are black and can be easily mistaken for bears. They possess cat-like heads with long whiskers and fur covering their faces. Their hides are stiff with a long outer coat and a soft undercoat that gleams in the light. Their paws resemble those of a cat, complete with tufts of fur between their fingers. These creatures have long and fluffy tails and sport sharp, pointy teeth that often protrude slightly from their upper lips.
