Horses (Equinae)
These versatile creatures have made their presence felt in virtually every corner touched by sentient beings. They forged a historical bond with the initial settlers of Burgos and played an essential role in the exploratory expeditions to the Frozen Land, where they tirelessly pulled sleds that would later lay the foundation for Polarnik. Their adaptability and usefulness have led to diverse breeding practices, with individuals being raised for a range of purposes, from serving as robust draft animals to toiling in the fields as working horses, and even being bred for their meat. Whether swift and robust like those bred near the Fiery Mountains or endowed with formidable strength and resilience like the Skiewol horses of Morozia, they consistently prove to be indispensable companions in various endeavors.
Common horse (Equus ferus caballus)
This breed stands out as the most prevalent member of the Equus family, widely recognized for its exceptional adaptability to the continent’s ever-changing climate. Renowned for their versatility and reliability, these horses are the favored choice of many travelers venturing into the uncharted territories, serving as their trusted; and often only, mode of transportation. With the ability to access locations inaccessible to conventional vehicles, these creatures can bear substantial loads on their backs and even heavier burdens when employed as draft animals. They are a common presence across the southern continent, forming enduring companionships with countless individuals.

Skiewol horses (Equus skiewol)
The Morozian horses are an excellent example of evolutionary adaptation to harsh surroundings. These robust creatures exhibit a stout physique, characterized by a dense, double-layered coat and compact limbs, all of which protects them from freezing temperatures and promotes efficient blood circulation. As herbivores, Morozian horses rely on the scarce vegetation found in the region’s forests and cold grasslands to sustain themselves. Due to their abundance, the Morozian people have wisely harnessed the capabilities of these horses, incorporating them into various aspects of daily life. Consequently, these diligent horses are everywhere in Morozia, fulfilling essential tasks ranging from pulling carts to tending the limited fields within this unforgiving environment.
Appearance: These creatures reach a height of 5 feet (150 centimeters) at the shoulders and measure 8 feet (240 centimeters) in length. They are big and relatively slow-moving. When viewed from the side, they bear a resemblance to donkeys and feature prominent, large bellies. Their fur consists of a thick and shaggy undercoat that provides insulation against the elements. These creatures also possess a beard and a long mane, which some warriors may braid for decorative purposes. While they can come in various colors, the most common shades range from pale brown to chestnut, often with gray patches.
