Harpogons

These creatures are the stuff of nightmares for sailors, notorious for their attacks on ships, particularly in the frigid waters of the Cold Sea. These winged, horned female monsters go by many names: harpogons, skratti, or simply the sea whores, and they inhabit the icy realms of the southern seas. They are adept practitioners of magic, wielding it with fluency to cast spells of wind manipulation and water control. Often, they hunt in packs and can frequently be spotted perched on towering rocks and cliff sides, lying in wait for passing ships.

Appearance: These humanoid creatures appear somewhat sentient but are inherently feral and dangerous. Their heads, typically resembling that of a woman, are adorned with numerous symmetrically twisting horns, each one tapering to a point. These horns appear to serve as a means of controlling magic. Below their heads, they possess a slender and naked female body.

Their hands transform into wings, adorned with vibrant and colorful feathers, and end with sharp talons, which they wield to deliver decisive strikes. Their lower extremities resemble those of a bird of prey, covered in feathers that envelop their entire lower half, culminating in menacing claws at the base.

Male specimens, on the other hand, deviate significantly from the females. They sport a beastly and dragon-like body throughout, featuring a long neck and a decidedly more brutish appearance. It is speculated that those creatures are an outcome of an ancient experiment of Partus magic.
