Festus (Balaenebular serravolans)  

The gigantic orca-like creature that roams the fogs across the continent is easly capable of swallowing a person whole. This creature is notorious for its attacks on sailors navigating the Sea of Fog and individuals traversing mist-covered waters. Its primary sustenance consists of the smaller creatures inhabiting the fog, resulting in a robust and resilient skin that even bullets struggle to penetrate. Despite the inherent dangers, there are daring individuals who embark on hunting expeditions in pursuit of these creatures, lured by the prospect of fetching exorbitant prices for their skin, organs, bones, blood, and even fat. These valuable materials find applications in hexes, magic, and medicine, making them highly sought-after commodities despite the considerable risks involved in obtaining them.

Appearance: These creatures boast an impressive size, measuring approximately 25 feet (8 meters) in length and 8 feet (2.5 meter) in diameter. The bottom half of the body is predominantly white while top is adorned with distinctive dark purple and black spots. These creatures possess two vertical fins, one at the center for control and one larger at the back which they utilize to propel themselves through their environment.

Long, black fins extend from sides of their bodies, each decorated with purple dots at their tips. Their surprisingly deep and wide mouths are equipped with a row of flat teeth at the front, complemented by sharper teeth further back. Right behind the jaw,  at a slight angle there is a ring of thicker skin with many short combes of sharp saw like spikes. Notably, along the central line where colours start to differ, we can find a line of the same spiky growths, running the whole lenght.

Abilities:

• Fear – Due to their imposing size and unsettling appearance, the creature often strikes fear into the hearts of those encountering them, particularly for the first time. All adversaries facing them must make a Bravery check with a difficulty of 7. Should they fail, they become immobilized, able to perform only Bravery checks until they successfully overcome their fear or are compelled to flee from the terrifying presence of the creature.

• 2A Charge – Festus charges a line of enemies and attacks all of them once with its body. If it fails any of the Attack checks it stops its charge on that enemy.  

• Impenetrable – The creature’s skin is Impenetrable similarly to armor with that trait, so all attacks, even those from weapons with the Penetrating trait, deduct the creature’s Toughness from the inflicted damage.
