Fercastors (Castoroides moschatus

Fercastors, a distinct variety of beavers, inhabit the forests close to rivers, much like their smaller kinsmen. However, unlike their more docile relatives, Fercastors are notably larger and possess a more aggressive disposition.

These formidable creatures are known to target water animals and small fishing boats. Intriguingly, they seem to possess an understanding of fishermen’s activities and typically launch their attacks when the fishermen return to cities with boats full of their catch. When confronted, Fercastors exhibit the capacity to flip boats, devouring everything in their path, including vulnerable individuals.

While Fercastors are most commonly found in the Wild Lands, reports of their presence have surfaced in other regions as well. Similar to other beavers, they engage in dam-building activities along riverbanks and construct lodges that stand several meters above the water. These lodges serve as entrances to their subterranean homes, providing both shelter and security.

Fercastor fur is used for clothing making, and the glands on their bodies produce fragrant secretions used in the creation of perfumes, known for their woody and musky aroma. Among the Beastly, these perfumes are considered a luxury item.

Appearance: Standing on their hind legs, they attain a height of 5 feet (1.5 meters). Their body is adorned with shiny brown waterproof fur. They possess a trapezoidal head featuring two eyes, a square nose, and distinct reddish teeth as hard as nails. Membranes between the pointed fingers of their hands and legs aid them in swimming. Their tail is substantial and teardrop-shaped, resembling a pedal. It is covered in darker skin and adorned with numerous bumps.
