Awernesser
These enigmatic beings seem to hail from another realm, bearing no resemblance to any known creatures. Only the most nightmarish encounters by ill-fated travelers can be likened to these beings. They appear to be connected to the divine or perhaps the unholy, as they perpetually chant beneath their grotesque faces. There is a faint humanoid semblance to them, but it is tenuous at best. They do not display aggression, for few are bold enough to provoke them, yet those who, in a drunken stupor, have stumbled upon them meet swift and brutal ends. Many believe that they come from the “Contemperance” and are divine creatures related to the gods of science. Some claim they bestow enlightenment upon newborn babies, as they are most often observed in villages following numerous births.
Appearance: This creature resembles a huge, humped-back humanoid figure from a distance. It has a disproportionately small head with dark red eyes. Its appendages are pale and slender with unnaturally deep wrinkles. Any visible part of its body appears to be draped in brittle and dry skin, The robe that covers almost the whole body is ancient and bears some strange shifting symbols. It holds a black metal mace and uses it as its cane while the other hand holds a lamp.

- Miracles – Once a turn this creature can perform a Miracle (action, 1 Miracle point) to put 1 Fatigue point on everyone around it.
- Chanting – If the creature feels threatened it will start the Dead Chant (2 Miracle points, difficulty 7). All creatures in the range of the chant have to perform Decay resistance check on difficulty of 10 each turn for the duration of 2 turns. If they fail they receive D10 damage ignoring body and toughness.
- Combat prowess – This creature gains +5 to all attack checks.
