Maplewood

This evergreen forest is teeming with maple trees, hence the name. Encircled by mountains, the outer forest creates a humid environment, fostering the growth of various mushrooms and mosses, both edible and not. This vibrant, green expanse is home to a unique array of creatures, including mossy mooses, colossal beavers known as Fercastors, black wolves, and maple bears. Among the more common inhabitants are deer, rabbits, wolverines, foxes, and a multitude of birds, their chirping a constant presence.

Deep within this lush forest, the city of Maplewood proudly stands as the exclusive domain of Beastly, with minimal representation from other races. The cityscape is adorned with buildings featuring animalistic motifs and carvings on wooden facades, reflective of its predominantly Beastly population. The main square is graced by the town hall called “the Rathaus” by locals, distinguished by its pointy roof, while nearby, an academy and marketplace thrive. The architecture of Maplewood is characterized by half-timbered walls, with buildings gradually expanding as they ascend to multiple floors.

One exceptional structure in the city, located on its outskirts, takes the form of a reversed pyramid and ranks as the tallest building in Maplewood. This building houses the Enchanted Library, an invaluable repository of ancient arcane knowledge accessible exclusively to Beastly, with only rare exceptions granted to those deemed worthy.
