Hadelberg
Northwest of the Sea of Fog stands one of the largest cities in Mebelands. Nestled in the valley, known as the Crystal City, Hadelberg is a major hub for the production of gems and crystals, particularly those found south of the Midland Mountains. Mines upstream from the city yield all kinds of gems, from common levitarite, lumilite and balumite, to powerful crystals and valuable ores.
The city’s location, adjacent to Lake Corben, further contributes to its mineral wealth, as the lake holds smaller gems and mineral deposits. Local residents extract these resources, both on a larger industrial scale and through smaller operations. Hadelberg’s strategic location makes it a crucial nexus for trade between the northern cities of Mebelands, particularly with goods flowing in from the southern regions.
Frequent visits from the ever-present fogs have influenced the city’s architecture, leading to the incorporation of elements also used at the Sea of Fog, such as usage of crystal lamps and decrease in advanced machinery. Within the city, notable features include a shipyard responsible for crafting most vessels that navigate the Sea of Fog (occupying a substantial area along the lakeshore), a temple district featuring one of the grand Nomen temples, and a bustling trade district.
Merchants district that was once merely a small neighborhood has, over the years, expanded to encompass roughly a quarter of the city’s total area. It is said that, given enough time, one could find a specialist in nearly any field here. The city’s buildings mostly use brick for construction, adorned with coats of arms, and family mottos that serve as inspirational decorations.
