Protectors (Inanimachina vigili)
Those machines were made for one purpose: to protect whoever owned them. These machines enjoyed widespread use in ancient times. However, their numbers have dwindled significantly, and only a handful are created annually today. Countless tales tell of wealthy individuals embarking on grand adventures, meeting their demise along the way, and leaving their loyal machines behind. Over centuries of abandonment, these protectors often descended into madness, assaulting anything approaching the lifeless remains of their previous owner. In contemporary times, these mechanized guardians represent a mere echo of their former technological prowess. Modern models exhibit limited operational lifespans, with the most exceptional constructs, such as those engineered by the Karakow Brothers, capable of a full day’s mobility but just under two hours of combat readiness.
Appearance: Standing at a formidable height of 10 feet (2.5 meters), these humanoid machines possess imposing, oversized torsos entirely encased in metal armor plates. Between the plates, crystals responsible for powering these monstrosities emit a shining glow. Their hands are equipped with various interchangeable components, typically featuring blades, cannons, or guns on one side, and the four-fingered hands on the other.

Skills: Athletics +4, Speed +3, Pain resistance +2
Abilities:
- Fear – Due to their imposing size and unsettling appearance, the creature often strikes fear into the hearts of those encountering them, particularly for the first time. All adversaries facing them must make a Bravery check with a difficulty of 7. Should they fail, they become immobilized, able to perform only Bravery checks until they successfully overcome their fear or are compelled to flee from the terrifying presence of the creature.
- Vigilance – These creatures are unwaveringly loyal to their master and are resistant to being led away from them. If they fail in their duty to protect their master, they will relentlessly pursue and neutralize the killer.
- Shot – Many machines conceal guns within their bodies, which they utilize to fire at distant targets. These machines possess a finite number of cannons and lack the ability to reload them in combat once they have been fired. Each gun deals 2D10 damage higher + Senses upon hit.
