Elasmosus (Nebulara longispina)

The elasmosus is one of the largest creatures known to inhabit the world. Also known as the great worm, this monstrous entity possesses a remarkably long neck, which accounts for most of its immense height. They live in the Mist and in the ocean but can comfortably survive on the land. Some Elasmosus make their homes in the Sea of Fog, while others dwell in the open ocean. They are notorious for poking their serpentine heads out of the fog or water to attack unsuspecting swimmers and vessels. Predicting their behavior is a daunting challenge, while their longevity is nearly unrivaled. There are very few recorded instances of these creatures dying, and even fewer cases of them being killed. Elasmosus are known to possess the ability to manipulate elements, granting them a mastery of magic. They often wield their magical powers when threatened. One particularly noteworthy event in history recounts an elasmosus sinking a royal Morozian ship and extinguishing the whole male lineage of the Mrakov family. Until this day, widowed wives of house Markov spent remains of their fortune to hunt for the creature and in 130 years are known to have killed 2 of them.

Appearance: These monstrosities can reach towering heights of up to 65 feet (20 meters), primarily due to their incredibly long necks, which form about 80% of their stature, dwarfing even the largest man-o’-wars in size. Its elongated neck leads to a head positioned at the end, with five watchful eyes that scan its surroundings. The creature’s mouth is situated on the top of its head, giving it the appearance of a massive worm. The body of the Elasmosus is muscular in shape and boasts four powerful legs akin to those of dragons, with membranous webbing stretching between them and its central torso. Unlike its soft bottom, the neck that extends above the water’s surface is shielded by a thick scaly covering. On the outside of its body, it possesses glands that emit a faint glow, serving as indicators of the torso’s location.
