Sandwalkers (Elephantis lonpedibus

Sand walkers are imposing creatures that dominate the desert landscapes, resembling gigantic camel-elephants that gracefully traverse the dunes. While they are a relatively rare sight on the eastern part of the desert, they can be found more easily in the west.

One of the most remarkable features of Sand Walkers is their adherence to distinct day and night cycles, a rarity among desert-dwelling creatures. Strangely, they actively avoid the fog, displaying a unique behavior that sets them apart.

When sand walkers sense an incoming fog they can’t avoid, they can close the membranes between their toes and sink into the sand, rendering them nearly invisible to potential threats.

Feeding primarily on the plants that grow on the mesas and in oasis areas, sand walkers are in a constant state of movement as they seek sustenance. Their significance extends beyond their ecological role, as they hold a special place in desert culture. Harming these creatures in any way is deemed a severe offense in the Land of Nur, punishable by death.

Legend has it that atop one of these majestic creatures, Rass, the god of Magic, built a library where he stored his vast knowledge for future generations to learn from when he is reborn.

Appearance: These colossal creatures, among the largest on the southern continent, stand at an impressive height of approximately 50 feet (15 meters). The majority of this height is contributed by their long legs, which extend to a length of 30 feet (9 meters). They possess slender legs with flat feet, and between their toes, they have enormous membranes that prevent them from sinking into the sand. Their torsos display a grayish-yellow hue with black spots adorning their feet. Their heads resemble those of elephants, featuring big ears and slightly elongated necks with a trunk-like appendage. A substantial hump graces their backs, and a very long tail extends from their rear end.
