Bone lizards (Cordylus oshabitatis

Bone lizards are relatively large reptilian creatures that have claimed the Badlands as their home. These intriguing creatures are characterized by numerous spiky protrusions and a bulbous growth on the nape that resembles their head. What’s particularly fascinating is their defensive strategy in case of danger. When threatened, bone lizards expose these growths and curl their heads inward, creating the illusion that the fake head is their actual head. This clever tactic often confuses predators, leading them to target the decoy head first, allowing the lizard to escape harm.

Bone Lizards primarily subsist on a diet of insects and small mammals, and they exhibit a unique behavior of making their homes within the bones of deceased animals.

In situations where they feel threatened or cornered, bone lizards rapidly whip their tails at the enemy and, with surprising agility, retreat on their back legs as quickly as possible. This striking maneuver is known to be lethal, as repeated strikes can cause significant injuries, often leading to the enemy bleeding to death.

Appearance: These creatures’ bodies measure approximately 2 feet (0.6 meters) in length, with an additional 3 feet (0.9 meters) contributed by their tail. They sport a pale white hue. Their bodies are adorned with upward-pointing small spikes. Positioned on their nape, they possess a false head that regenerates when removed. Their talons are sharp and serve the purpose of burying them in the ground.
