Regional merchandise: jewels, crystals, spices, hex, fruits, date wine.

Sandy Land of Nur is located on the Orange Desert and encompasses the realm beyond the Fiery Mountains. The first and most well-known city, Teremond, serves as the entry point to this land and is often called the Gate of Nur. Beyond that spans the endless, scorching desert, and many days of travel separate us from the nearest settlement.
Next on the shores, there is a fishing city called Taraka that takes refuge in the Sandy Bay, and from there, through the desert, we reach the city of Zataki. This city stands deep in the desert and would be difficult to spot if not for the great spire that stands in the center of it. Caravans with their equipment can travel from Zataki to either the port city of Waraci or to the capital city, Laravi. Beyond that lies the endless expanse of the Orange Desert and its shimmering dunes. Deep in the desert, the remains of the old salty sea named the Lap Sea can be found, where twisted rocks adorn the stony seabed. Folk speak of other cities west from Lararavi, but most consider them to be mirages perceived by exhausted travellers.
Due to the isolated nature of the land, it is difficult to discuss international relations. In the Land of Nur, folk are often judged by their wealth and are treated accordingly. If you appear poor, you will be treated as such. Those in poverty are treated as less than humans. This, in turn, causes them to disrespect anyone from other countries, as nowhere else do people place so much emphasis on their image. This is one of the reasons why people from Verdalia dislike them and vice versa. Those from Morozia and Astoria, who have a natural tendency to embellish everything, are often tolerated by the locals. The Beastly of the Wild Lands have similar tendencies when it comes to adorning themselves, though they are less liked due to their somewhat savage appearance and brash temperament.
The majority of the Land of Nur’s population consists of Humans, with about a fifth of the population being native Beastly. They usually live in smaller settlements outside the major cities. People can be found in main towns with ample water sources, while the Beastly while more adapted to the local climate spend their time on the outskirts. As one could imagine, the lack of water and the sand devoid of nutrients are a nightmare for Virdis. If they live here, they were probably born in one of the oases of the land. Those who want to travel usually wear special clothes that retain moisture, but these garments are uncomfortable, costly, and akin to heavy armour.
Notably, in Laravi lives a rooted Virdis known as Old Man Date, who is over 500 years old. There are also some larger groups of Artifex as the climate is not as harsh for them as it is for organic creatures. They generally have to cover their whole bodies in fabric, wrapping their joints and moving parts. This safeguards them from the accumulation of sand and dust inside. Most of them live in the desert as they don’t require food or water, but they often need new parts as they wear out much faster in the sandy environment. When they come to the city, it is usually announced in advance as they arrive in masses, creating a huge event for merchants. They usually bring objects from far corners of the Orange Desert that can fetch high prices, but are usually traded for spare parts instead. Similar to nomads, they don’t value money and only engage in barter.
