The isolated island of Burgos and Worgos, situated to the west of Ostrov city, are separated by vast wilderness in the form of the Votny forest on land and the Pirates Archipelago across the sea. This region comprises the continental part known as Worgos and the western island group collectively referred to as Burgos.
In the heart of Worgos lies the city of Mar, perched upon the cliffs and with limited access to the ocean. To the east is the forest city of Follaje, while journeying north brings you to the bustling trade port city of Puerto Sol. To the south lies Arboladura port, which often falls prey to marauding pirates with ill intentions. Westward, across the Raging Sea, you’ll find the islands of Burgos. The city of Arcopol stands on the east shore of Burgos, and traveling clockwise around the island, you’ll encounter the cities of Dorada, Topico, and Nisos, the westernmost port known to the inhabitants.
Roads on the islands are largely neglected and overgrown, as most transportation and trade are conducted by water. To the north, on Crocodile Island, the port city of Manglar is predominantly inhabited by Beastly and is a hub for their trade.
The folk of Burgos and Worgos are generally known for their positivity, friendliness, and love for storytelling. Many of them are experienced sailors, and their interactions with people from various regions often result in the exchange of captivating stories, even if not all of them are entirely true. While they face the challenge of dispelling their reputation as a pirate nation, they maintain good relations with neighboring nations, especially those to the east, as they rely heavily on imports for their sustenance.
Worgos, historically more aggressive in their northern endeavors, has made some enemies in the Zatara Jungle and the Land of Nur due to their “expeditions” thet were no more than matirine invasions.
Burgos was established by sailors, leading to a diverse population. Many Beastly individuals came from the Wild Lands, Virdis predominantly from Verdalia, Humans settled as they typically do, and Artifex arrived with the hope of finding new lands to establish their own towns. The relations between the mainland and the island are generally positive, with many families conducting business on both sides of the Raging Sea.
Surprisingly, sailors from Morozia took an interest in Burgos due to its more hospitable climate compared to their native land. If not for the menacing presence of the Pirate Archipelago, relations between the two regions would likely be even better. One pirate who has struck fear into the hearts of many is known as Cannon, although his real name is Jak Tarvu. He commands a sloop armed with a formidable cannon array on the front, capable of sinking even the largest of ships, and because of that encounters with Cannon typically lead to a swift surrender. Survivors of such encounters are few, as few of those who dared to fabricate tales of having faced him have lived to tell the story again.
Interestingly, some Artifex groups that initially sought to establish settlements in Burgos ultimately transitioned into sailors, operating floating cities and freeports within the Pirate Archipelago. They highly value the freedom that comes with lawlessness and, combined with their questionable morality, have earned a fearsome reputation as pirates. As one might imagine, there are relatively few Virdis engaged in piracy, as those who aspire to be pirates must find ways to work around the lack of soil on ships. While some vessels are adapted for transporting Virdis, they tend to be slower and heavier.
